The College Scorecard site compares U.S. colleges by three factors:
The price to attend for in-state students, including living expenses, minus net federal grant aid.
The graduation rate for students within 6 years of enrollment.
The median salaries for graduates within 10 years of enrollment.
While the first two statistics were already available, the salary-after-attending statistic is new and game-changing.
In this example, the first school costs more, but the less costly school has a vastly better median graduate salary score.

SAT "sent" scores are a leading indicator of changes in college prospect behavior … and their behavior is changing. A 10-percent increase in a college’s salary score is already boosting its number of SAT score “sends” by 2.4%, even though College Scorecard’s salary statistics weren’t available until after most students had selected their college for the 2015-2016 school year. The effect of College Scorecard is expected to increase dramatically.
